6/13/2023 0 Comments Insomniax for mac wont disable lidI also use it for RDP access to Windows 10 (via bootcamp) on the same machine. iTeleport is very good - it can be set up to use VNC, hence no additional s/w needed on the Mac. ![]() For remote control, I use screen sharing from another Mac, or iTeleport from ipad or iphone. In the process of doing this, I happened to notice the resource consumption of TeamViewer - over 30% CPU continuous! So if you just want a remote screen, don't use it. At work I use it closed with a display connected, so I tried plugging a dummy display plug into it - half way there, but still need a mouse to wriggle around to make it work. But that of course defeats the purpose of the exercise, which was to have it sitting neatly in the rack and come to life when needed. This worked fine if I left the lid up on the MBP. I was attempting to make a MBP headless a few weeks ago, ended up trying to use TeamViewer (it was already installed) which has a wakeup setting. You can disable idle sleep entirely if you want. ![]() I used InsomniaX everyday to make sure the MBA doesn't sleep when I close the lid. ![]() Or you can just prevent it from sleeping:
